During the FDR Administration, Massachusetts native and first woman in government, Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins, crafted some of the most significant legislation of the New Deal Era. For those who think that Social Security, child labor laws, minimum wage, 40-hour work week, and other social justice policies have been the work of men who wear ties, this presentation shows that all were crafted by one woman who wore pearls.
