Afrofuturist Screening of "Space to Breathe" and Sessions on Envisioning a Better World

The Transformative Justice Collective (TJC) is pleased to screen Space to Breathe, an “Afrofuturist science fiction hybrid documentary, framed with a future where there are no prisons or police.”  Joining us to discuss the film, abolition, and Afrofuturism will be Juicebox P. Burton (director), Nish Newton (actor who portrays Sojourner),  and Jordan Flaherty (producer).

The film screening and dinner will be on Wednesday, October 15th, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm in Furcolo 125. In honor or our invited guests, all based in New Orleans, we will have a Cajun dinner provided by Stone Soup Cafe starting at 5:00pm, prior to the screening, which will begin at 6pm.

The TJC will also be supporting Afrofuturist inspired sessions throughout the day on Thursday, October 16.  Please see below to RSVP for the Thursday events.
