Art and Nature : Cyanotype Workshop for Families

Date/Time

Location

Mass Audubon - Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary (127 Combs Road, Easthampton, MA 01027, Easthampton MA)

In this workshop, participants use leaves and flowers to create a photographic image, without a camera! The magical cyanotype process, developed in 1852, will help us make graphic blue and white prints on paper. All supplies, including pressed plant material, will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring pressed plants or small objects from home to use in their compositions. We'll begin by reading a story about a 19th century girl, raised to be a scientist, who created the first photographic book using the cyanotype process, then learn how to make our own cyanotypes, and make one to take home. In the event of rain, this workshop will be take place on Sunday, October 2, 10:30 am-11:30 am.

**Audience: families with children 6-12 years old. Registration is required.**
