Art Exhibit Open House: “Ethereal Diversity: The Eloquence of Shared Experience”

In celebration of Holyoke’s 150th birthday, Holyoke Heritage State Park is proud to host the works of someone who has made this city his home. Vibrant illustrative art pieces created by J. Bryant II will showcase in the Exhibition Hall of the park’s visitor center from April 1, 2023 until May 31.  Open house to meet the artist is Saturday, April 8th from 1:00 to 3:00.

Through his medium of color pencil & ink as well as illustrative marker & watercolor the artwork of J. Bryant II expresses the beauty of uniqueness and a vivid view of the simplicity of the shared moment. He states, "I believe art should inspire joy in the individual who looks upon it and each time this is accomplished, it brings much relief and gratitude for the opportunity to share the love and spirit of imagination with one and all."

The artist has shown his work in multiple venues including:

  • Bourne Gallery of Illustrated Art in Wareham, MA-1996-98
  • Jan Collins Selman Gallery of Fine Art in Falmouth, MA-2004-05
  • 3rd Annual Brick Co-Work Art Event in Holyoke, MA-2016
  • 25th Annual Spring Art Exhibition in Monson, MA-2018

Besides the traveling exhibit space, Holyoke Heritage State Park Visitor Center hosts permanent exhibits depicting waterpower, mill industries, Mountain Park, and immigrant lives. Holyoke Heritage State Park is located at 221 Appleton Street in Holyoke and is accessible by PVTA public transit. Admission is free and the Visitor Center is open year-round, Tuesday through Sunday, from noon until 4:00. The park and visitor center are wheelchair accessible.
