Author Event: Candace Carlisle with Dr. Cornelia Santos

Join local author Candace Carlisle for a reading from her novel Seeking Her Own Path - Zoe's Tale. Carlisle's collaborator, Dr. Cornelia Santos, will join via Zoom and the pair will discuss their unique writing process. "Zoe's Tale interweaves the journeys of First Nations Ojibwe teenager Zoe Wenawe and her grandfather, Joseph. Set in Ontario and Quebec, the story spans the years 2005-2008--a turbulent time for Canadian Indigenous community, as the Canadian government starts to redress its past programs of cultural extinction. Zoe's path winds through the complexities of living in two cultures, unearthing family secrets, and searching for her own identity and purpose."
