Dive into local history at the Williamsburg Grange with a theatrical and historical commemoration of the Williamsburg Dam disaster of May 16th,1874.
Hear reflections from local historian Elizabeth Sharpe, author of "In the Shadow of the Dam" followed by "Ballad of the Flood" a play by Beth Fairservis, depicting with puppets and an old style cranky box, the day of the flood from the perspective of Viola Coyler, the first child to die in the disaster. Music composed and performed by Jonathan Stevens. Appropriate for children ages 8 and up with adult supervision.
