Beginner and Skill Building Sewing Classes

Come spend some time this winter learning to sew or honing your skills.  Grove House Sewing Studio classes are small, supportive, fun, and both cathartic and challenging all at once.  Teaching and learning is paced for each student’s needs and interests.  Winter workshops are 6-weeks long and begin the week of January 5th, 2026.

With a focus on garment sewing but an openness to all sorts of projects and ideas, the Grove House Sewing Studio welcomes folks to dive into the joyous and winding adventure of working with textiles to create wearable, usable, and lovable items – to build skill and confidence in sewing while also finding appreciation for the steps of the journey. Beginner classes focus on foundational skills such as fabric selection and preparation, measurement, pattern selection, pinning and cutting techniques, machine usage, and more. Skills classes are very student driven. Each sewist is welcome to work on a project of their choice, while receiving support, problem solving, and collaboration all along the way. Private sewing lessons are also offered.
