Wednesday September 28 Northampton Department of Community Care presents Beyond Possible Wednesday, September 28 at 7:00 pm Beyond Possible: How the Hearing Voices Approach Transforms Lives Film Screening + Panel - Part of the Resilient Communities Series Academy of Music 274 Main St, Northampton Wednesday, September 28th Doors at 6:30pm Intro and Film at 7:00pm Beyond Possible: putting personal stories in the context of an international movement for human rights and dignity, this 22-minute film explores what the Hearing Voices approach looks like, how it began, and the ways in which it is expanding our view of what is possible in the lives of people who hear voices, see visions, and/or have other similarly non-consensus-reality-based experiences. Following the Northampton debut of Beyond Possible, a panel of local community leaders connected to the Hearing Voices Network (HVN) will help expand the conversation around how our relationships to these experiences impact public health and community-wide transformations around meaning, purpose and equity: Caroline Mazel-Carlton, Director of Training of Wildflower Alliance, HVN-USA Board Director Cindy Hadge, Lead Trainer, Wildflower Alliance, HVN Facilitator Gail Hornstein, Professor Emerita of Psychology, Mount Holyoke College/Director, US Hearing Voices Research Project Also, join us for a community dinner in Pulaski Park provided by Manna Community Kitchen before the screening at 6:00pm and learn about local peer and mutual support resources.
