Date/Time

Location

Bombyx Center for Arts and Equity (130 Pine St., Florence, Mass. MA)

The David Ruggles Center for History and Education invites you to help celebrate the publication of “Protesting with Rosa Parks: From Stagecoaches to Driving While Black” by NewSouth Books/Univ. of Georgia Press. John Bollard will read selections from his revealing new book recounting the experiences of over 95 people who, like Rosa Parks, refused to give up their rights and their seats on stagecoaches, trains, steamboats, streetcars, buses, planes, cars, even elevators and a shoe shine stand, from 1832 to 2023. An open discussion, moderated by Professor Ousmane Power-Greene of Clark University, will be followed by refreshments and a book signing.
