St. John's Episcopal Church (Sanctuary) (48 Elm st, Northampton, MA 01060, Northampton MA)

St. John's invites the community to read the debut novel of local author Dr. Ousmane Power-Greene, "The Confessions of Matthew Strong". Then please join us for a FREE discussion and educational forum led by the author on Sunday Feb 5th, 11:30am.

"The Confessions of Matthew Strong" is an NPR Best Book of the Year and a "wildly original, incendiary story about race, redemption, the dangerous imbalances that continue to destabilize society, and speaking out for what’s right." (https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/.../the-confessions.../)

Dr. Power-Green is the Program Director of Africana Studies and an Associate Professor of History at Clark University. He is also the author of "Against Wind and Tide: The African American Struggle Against the Colonization Movement".

We are looking forward to hosting this event! "The Confession of Matthew Strong" is available locally at Broadside Books & online.

Accessibility considerations: The event will take place in the Sanctuary which is reached by a small set of stairs at the front of the church or through a ramp accessible door on the left side (as you face the church).  There is one dedicated accessible parking spot and some close proximity parking in the circle drive at St. John's.
