Catalog: Why Nostalgia? Art Talk with Michael Sjostedt

Date/Time

Location

Big Red Frame (43 Main Street / Old Town Hall, Easthampton, MA 01027, Easthampton MA)

Michael Sjostedt will host a dynamic conversation about his latest collage series, Catalog. Moderated by Easthampton City Councilor Thomas Peake, Sjostedt will offer a guided tour of the complete collection with a focus on the role of nostalgia in his work. Chairs available upon request.

About Michael Sjostedt: Sjostedt spent his childhood steeped in the pop culture of the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, finding in them both salvation and estrangement. That dichotomy forms the basis of his art, as he considers how he simultaneously fits and does not fit into the media of his youth—then and now.
