common: a shared audio experience
Date/Time
Location
Amherst Town Common (4 Boltwood Walk, Amherst, MA 01002, Amherst MA)
The Amherst Historical Society will be presenting
*common,* a 10-minute auditory piece, intended for two to 200 people, that will take place on the Amherst Town Common during the Farmers Market on Saturday, July 18. Participants will be asked to follow voice instructions on their headphones and move around the Common during the experience. Designed to celebrate the town's historic centerpiece, *common* was created by John Bechtold, Creative Director of Eggtooth Productions and the head of the Performing Arts Program at Amherst Regional High School. Through shared experience, Bechtold hopes to bring Amherst together on the Town Common once again, for an unforgettable auditory adventure through Amherst’s storied past.
This free, participatory event will require headphones and a connection to the internet while on the Amherst Town Common. The program will be run 3 times: at 10:30, 11:00 and 11:30. Information on how to access the program will be available at Amherst Historical Society’s *Hands on History* table at the Amherst Farmer’s Market that morning. Length: ~10 minutes. Appropriate for ages 12+.
