Coyote Makes a World (a transformative multimedia performance)

Presented by Antenna Cloud Farm, join us for an autumnal feast for the ears, eyes, and soul as performer, storyteller, and vocalist čnaq’ymi (lone eagle) brings his multimedia project to The Shea Theater, in collaboration with The Forest, an extraordinarily versatile percussion ensemble that weaves together threads from many different musical traditions.

As the central figure within Indigenous storytelling traditions of the Interior Northwest, Coyote encounters the contemporary crises of our times, oblivious to the consequences of his actions in ways that are familiar, unsettling, and often humorous. Set within a dynamic rhythmic landscape layered with songs and mesmerizing vocalizations, Coyote Makes a World reflects the world we’ve made while taking the listener to places they’ve never before encountered.

Embodying Coyote’s more outlandish qualities, lone eagle creates an atmosphere, through movement, spoken word, and songs, that brings audiences into a visceral sense of spirituality normally found within sacred Native American ceremonies. Coyote Makes a World possesses the power to transport and transform. We hope you will join us for this special journey!
