Wistariahurst Museum is delighted to welcome friends and families into our halls once a month for our Sensory Friendly Sunday Fundays! Discover the wonders of the first floor at Wistariahurst Museum and explore each captivating room, beginning with the elegant marble lobby and continuing to the enchanting music room, all while utilizing our informative guide pamphlets in English and Spanish.

Throughout the first floor, guests of all ages can interact with activities curated with our friends with sensory sensitivities in mind. Our music room will be filled with fun gross motor activities that will get everyone hopping, moving, and excited with hula hoops, hopscotch, bounce balls, and so much more! Throughout the first floor, children will be able to interact with fine motor activities, puzzles, and board games to engage with and enjoy.

That’s not all! Staff are on the lookout for Winston the Wisty Lion and need your help! Winston is sleeping somewhere in our museum, but we can’t find him! During your self-guided tour, keep your eyes open for our lethargic, little lion. When you find him, don’t shout and wake him up! Take a picture or selfie with him and show your picture to our front desk attendant to get an exclusive Winston sticker!

Wistariahurst Museum has a new, fun dino-themed scavenger hunt to celebrate DINO DAYS! Follow alongside Patty the Dinosaur and learn all about Massachussett’s state dinosaur, Podokesaurus holyokensis. Best of all, there is no time limit to this scavenger hunt, so all can enjoy this activity at their own pace. At the end of your hunt, stop by the front desk to show your answers and win a fun prize!

Get ready to stomp, chomp, and roar as you break out in your favorite dino-dance moves during our Dinosaur Dance Off! Dress like your favorite dinosaur and meet us in the Music Room to boogie like a brontosaurus to win a special, prehistoric themed prize.

Our Sensory Friendly Sunday Fundays provide an excellent opportunity for families with sensory sensitivities to experience our museum in a relaxed environment at their own pace. Wistariahurst is thrilled to host these monthly open hours, allowing families to explore, discover, and connect with our museum. This is why these events will be free and accessible to the public for all to enjoy.

El Museo Wistariahurst se complace en dar la bienvenida a amigos y familias en nuestras salas una vez al mes para nuestros Domingos Sensoriales. Descubra las maravillas de la primera planta del Museo Wistariahurst y explore cada una de las cautivadoras salas, comenzando por el elegante vestíbulo de mármol y continuando por la encantadora sala de música, todo ello mientras utiliza nuestros folletos guía informativos en inglés y español.

A lo largo de la primera planta, los visitantes de todas las edades podrán interactuar con actividades organizadas por nuestros amigos teniendo en cuenta las sensibilidades sensoriales. Nuestra sala de música estará repleta de divertidas actividades de motricidad gruesa que harán que todos salten, se muevan y se emocionen con aros hula hula, rayuela, pelotas saltarinas y mucho más. A lo largo de la primera planta, los niños podrán interactuar con actividades de motricidad fina, rompecabezas y juegos de mesa para participar y disfrutar.

Pero eso no es todo. El personal está buscando a Winston, el león de los sueños, ¡y necesita tu ayuda! Winston está durmiendo en algún lugar de nuestro museo, ¡pero no lo encontramos! Durante la visita autoguiada, mantén los ojos abiertos en busca de nuestro pequeño león aletargado. Cuando lo encuentres, ¡no grites y despiértalo! Hazte una foto o un selfie con él y enséñasela al recepcionista para conseguir una pegatina exclusiva de Winston.

El Museo Wistariahurst tiene una nueva y divertida búsqueda del tesoro con temática de dinosaurios para celebrar los DÍAS DEL DINO. Sigue a Patty el Dinosaurio y aprende todo sobre el dinosaurio estatal de Massachussett, el Podokesaurus holyokensis. Lo mejor de todo es que no hay límite de tiempo para esta búsqueda del tesoro, así que todos pueden disfrutar de esta actividad a su propio ritmo. Al final de la búsqueda, pásate por recepción para mostrar tus respuestas y ganar un divertido premio.

Prepárate para pisar fuerte, masticar y rugir con tus movimientos favoritos de baile de dinosaurios en nuestro Dinosaur Dance Off. Vístete como tu dinosaurio favorito y reúnete con nosotros en la Sala de Música para bailar como un brontosaurio y ganar un premio especial de temática prehistórica.

Nuestros Domingos Sensoriales son una excelente oportunidad para que las familias con sensibilidad sensorial conozcan nuestro museo en un ambiente relajado y a su propio ritmo. Wistariahurst está encantado de acoger estos horarios de apertura mensuales, que permiten a las familias explorar, descubrir y conectar con nuestro museo.
