Edward Hitchcock: America's First Dinosaur Expert with Bob McMaster. Robert McMaster will speak about his book ***All the Light Here Comes from Above: The Life and Legacy of Edward Hitchcock***. Edward Hitchcock an eminent 19th-century scientist was the first to embrace the theory of continental glaciation, although better known for his landmark research on the "fossil footmarks" of the Connecticut Valley. McMaster will review the life of Hitchcock, his legacy as a scientist and role in the early development of Mt Holyoke College, Amherst College and the University of Massachusetts.
