Elementary School Art Exhibit Community Celebration

Community Celebration: Tuesday, August 4, 5-6 pm (coincides with Summer Eats)

Greenfield elementary student artists in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade from Federal Street School, Four Corners School, and Newton School experimented with abstract art by choosing a favorite book, zooming in and framing a unique composition from the book’s cover.

The selected art works on view were made during the school year in Art classes where students chose from a variety of media: marker, colored pencils, watercolor, and / or oil pastels depending on the original cover art. 

The inspiration for this exhibition came from Mike Rawls, a children’s librarian and KidLit Curator known as The Book Wrangler on social media.

99 student artists are represented! Art works were created in the Art classrooms of Tina Clark and Sara Lyons with assistance from elementary school librarian, Rachel Dowd.
