Fascinating Rhythm: Music in the Air a Century Ago

Date/Time

Location

Charlemont Federated Church, 175 Main Street (Route 2), Charlemont (175 Main Street (Route 2), Charlemont MA)

Chanteuse Tinky Weisblat and composer/pianist Jerry Noble will revisit the some of the sounds of the 1920s while Tinky, who is a historian, provides commentary about the era. They will actually begin in the 1840s (still in some people’s memories during the Roaring Twenties!) and journey all the way to 1929, with brief detours to celebrate a few 1920s babies who died recently: Burt Bacharach, Harry Belafonte, Sheldon Harnick, and Tony Bennett. To add to the festivities, folk singer Molly Scott will sing a couple of songs as well. Donations at the door will help Mohawk Trail Concerts.
