HATCHERY YOUNG ARTIST PROJECT AUDITIONS

**ABOUT HATCHERY: SCDT’s Hatchery** is a movement-based performance company for young artists ages 13-18. Unique in the Pioneer Valley, Hatchery offers training in contemporary dance forms such as Modern, Improvisation, Contemporary Ballet, African Diaspora forms, Composition and Multimedia/Dance Production. Hatchery offers an opportunity for teens to work closely with internationally acclaimed guest artists to create choreographic works or simply take class School for Contemporary Dance and Thought founded Hatchery in 2015 to provide intermediate and advanced level movement-based performing artists with opportunity for performance without competition. Teen artists are offered opportunities that challenge their abilities while inviting their own creative process to emerge. It is our commitment to recognize that each young artist brings their own artistic integrity to the company. Each artist not only feels valued, but is valued.

Hatchery offers creative teens who love to dance a supportive environment where enthusiasm and curiosity are just as important as technique! Hatchery has performed at Jacob's Pillow and worked with professionals such as Bill To Jones, Raja Feather Kelly, Stuart Singer, Shakia Johnson, Shura Baryshnikov, La Alternativa (Kathleen Hermesdorf & Albert Mathias), Jasmine Hearn, Joya Powell, and many more. ​
