Heard World Jazz, a collective of musicians, will perform at the Mount, bringing world music, jazz and improvisation together for a vibrant sound with influences from West Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean and beyond.
The core quintet brings together Jonathan Green on woodwinds, Elizabeth Woodbury Kasius on keyboard and vocals, Bobby Kendall on bass, Brian Melick on drums, Zorkie Nelson on percussion and vocals and dance. They often perform with guest musicians including Augustina Nelson and Fosino Nelson for dance, percussion and vocals, Melora Creager on cello, Aston ‘Robot’ Ellis on steel drums, Nate Giroux on woodwinds, George Muscatello on guitar and Lou Smaldone and Rich Syracuse on bass.
