Historic Bostons' Panel Screening: What Really Happened

Join us at the Montague Center Branch for a live screening of Partnership of Historic Bostons' Zoom discussion: "What really happened at Turners Falls?". The panel features David Brule of the Nolumbeka Project, along with archaeologist David Naumec and Liz ColdWind Santana Kiser, tribal historic preservation officer of the Chaubunagungamaug Band of Nipmuck Indians. They will discuss the history of the 1676 massacre, informed by the findings of the National Park Service-funded battlefield project as well as Indigenous perspectives. The event will be held over Zoom, but will be broadcast on the projector at the Montague Center Branch for anyone who would prefer to view at the library. This panel is being organized by Partnership of Historic Bostons, an educational organization that provides free public history programs focused on 17th-century Massachusetts. Getting There: Those taking public transit can reach the Branch Library by taking the FRTA Bus Route 23 to the Montague Center Stop. Accessibility: The Montague Center Branch Library has one accessible parking space, located on the North Street side of the building (to the right side, if you’re facing the front of the building.)
