History of Strathmore Papermills, Talk @ Stanton Hall
Date/Time
Location
Stanton Hall (93 Main St, Huntington MA)
For over a hundred years, paper mills defined life on the lower Westfield River. In 1954 when the races first started, they were the biggest employers in the region. Now, the races go by these remnants of our industrial past. Who worked there? What did these mills produce? How did they support our communities. A presentation in conjunction with the Russell Historical Society. The races are embarking on an oral history project to preserve the voices and memories of the people who made paper for artists and even White House invitations. The talk will be lead by Country Journal Correspondent and oral historian Kathryn Koegel. $10 suggested donation at the door.
