Panel Discussion - In the Frame: The Importance of the Director–Cinematographer Relationship
With special guest EFF-alumna filmmakers Hunter Anderson, Carley Byers, and Melissa Dimetres
Join us for an in-person, non-screening panel discussion . This conversation brings together two directors (Byers, Dimetres) and a cinematographer (Anderson) to explore how women behind the camera collaborate to shape story from page to screen. From the earliest drafts of a script to the final cut, the relationship between director and cinematographer is critical—one of trust, shared vision, and constant creative dialogue.
Together, these artists will reflect on the process of building visual language from written word, how character and theme influence their aesthetic choices, and how their collaboration pushes the boundaries of representation on screen. The panel will also explore how working as women in these roles uniquely informs their approach to storytelling—both in content and in process.
Admission to this event will be free, with a suggested donation of $15. To donate, Venmo @EasthamptonFilmFest
