Is Hamlet Really Such a Big Deal? We'll spend an hour questioning this imposing work from many angles with Shakespeare Scholar, Dr. Betsy Fleche . . . and watch some Hamlet in action! No prior knowledge of Shakespeare is required.

Betsy Flèche has been an educator for twenty-five years. Flèche has a Masters and PhD in English and has written on Shakespeare, Walter Benjamin and critical theory. She has taught Shakespeare, world literature, contemporary women’s literature, and modern novel at the University of Connecticut, the University of Hartford, the University of Nebraska, Western New England University and other colleges and community colleges in New England. She also has a TESOL Certificate and has worked for many years in adult basic education, working with immigrants and refugees. She has most recently turned her attentions toward public school teaching, working as an ESOL and ELA teacher in urban middle schools and high schools. Her current professional project is to integrate the arts into the curriculum. She is writing a book about teaching Shakespeare to grades 6-12.
