**SPACE DANCE FUTURISTS**

L'Éclair is a cosmic instrumental six piece from Geneva, Switzerland that craft a unique sound with nods to CAN, Piero Umiliani, and Tangerine Dream as well as the house grooves of 80’s Madchester, Aphex Twin or Boards of Canada. The band has acquired a solid reputation in the global groove scene along with their “space dance” futurist peers like The Mauskovic Dance Band. They also attract fans of hip-hop, recalling the likes of producers Madlib, MF doom, and Dilla. The ever-present dub and house influences bubble up here and there but the sound is pure L'Éclair. They’ve masterfully transformed the material from their latest album Confusions for the stage. They set the controls for the heart of the sun, veering into the kind of expansive, spacey, blissed-out territory that would dazzle American festival-goers, which is all the more amazing considering the group has never played live in the U.S. until now.

Opening for them is Carinae, a hyper-star in the constellation Carina and a band from Western Mass. An integral supporter of the local DIY arts scene, its members have hosted house shows with other underground bands from all across the country, including international artists. For the past 5 years Carinae has toured extensively up and down the east coast of the U.S. and in Canada, building something of a devout cult following along the way. Their three part vocal harmonies orbit around patchwork guitar and keyboard textures laced with driving rhythms. Carinae’s lyrics bring you home and stretch you out, like star gazing in an open field.
