Local Author Talk: Bonnie Arnot
Date/Time
Location
Greenfield Public Library (412 Main St, Greenfield, MA 01301, Greenfield MA)
The Greenfield Public Library is pleased to welcome Local Author Bonnie Arnot to speak on her series *The Destiny of Jasirey*.
The Devoted of Jasirey, a multicultural underground society, searches for a woman-Jasirey-destined to save the world from the violent forces of greed and corruption. Shannon, a divorced, middle-aged mother of two teenagers, takes a trip with her best friend to the mountains of Vermont. She meets Ian, a member of the Devoted. Thus begins Shannon's journey of self-discovery and sexual awakening that will lead to crisis points of decision for herself, for the Devoted, and for the world. Its sequel *The Husbands of Jasirey* has just been published.
Bonnie will talk about not giving up on her dream of being a writer, even into her sixties, about the books, and their underlying theme: love is not merely feelings, thoughts, or words. Love is a verb--actions to care for, protect, and cherish loved ones, the planet, and its people. She loves stories about female heroines conquering new worlds as well as narratives about historical places and people who can seem just as fantastical to the modern world. She lives in western MA with her husband, two sons, and two cats.
Books will be available for purchase at the program.
