Mark Fraser: "People and Times, Black and White Photographs

The Greenfield Public Library is pleased to present Mark Fraser’s exhibit “People and Times” throughout March, in the Conference Room. 

Mark Fraser took up photography at age fifteen, and continues to this day, always using film cameras, and doing his own darkroom work. His photos are in the tradition of documentary photography, often taken in urban settings, but sometimes rural landscapes as well. But always ‘as is’: the subjects never altered, and the images not altered in the darkroom. 

The beauty of photography for Mark is that it has the capacity to frame an instant in time and space, isolating beautiful and engaging images easily overlooked in the abundance of data constantly taken in by our eyes.
