Metamorphoses

Date/Time

Location

The Drama Studio (41 Oakland Street Springfield, MA 01108, Springfield MA)

Over two thousand years ago the Roman poet Ovid chronicled more than 250 myths in his masterpiece Metamorphoses. Our spring play will explore three of those stories, leading audiences on a trio of journeys spanning multiple performance spaces throughout our building. Come and bear witness to the love, loss, triumph, defiance, and transformation.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING YOUR TICKETS

Arriving for the show:

The house will open 30 minutes prior to show time.

Because of the way this show is staged, we will not be able to immediately seat late arrivals. The audience will be split into 3 groups, which will travel through the building to see the three different myths. Audience members who arrive after the performance has begun will be required to wait until the next myth transition to be added into their group.

Traveling through our space:

Audience members will be required to transition through different production locations within our building, some of which will require the use of stairs. Unfortunately, at this time there is no elevator access to assist in these transitions. A digital ticket option will be available for this production after the show closes for those needing an alternative viewing experience.

Due to the audience movement in our Spring production, we recommend audience members limit the amount of items they bring to the theater as they will be required to carry them through viewing locations, without disruption to the performance. Public coat racks will be provided for audience use.

Content Warning:

We are recommending this show for ages nine and up. The actors wear full face masks, and get close to the audience. Small children may find this frightening. In addition, the show discusses themes common in Greek mythology, such as death and war, and also deals with themes of gender identity. There is no foul language, overt sexuality, or graphic violence, but parents bringing young children should be prepared for questions about heavy subject matter.

DRAMA STUDIO’S ONSITE POLICY

At this time, Drama Studio is requiring all audience members (regardless of age) to show proof of *full vaccination to enter the building. In lieu of proof of vaccination—proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of the performance start time, or a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test within 6 hours of the performance start time is required for all patrons unable to be vaccinated.

*Fully vaccinated means that at least 14 days have passed since the final dose of any FDA or WHO authorized or approved vaccine.

Please also have your government-issued photo ID available as well for verification.

While in the building, audience members are required to wear approved facial masks that cover the nose and mouth regardless of vaccination status.

On the day of the performance, by entering the theatre, all audience members are attesting that they:

Have not had COVID-19 in the prior fourteen days;

Have not been in contact with anyone known to have COVID-19,potentially been exposed to COVID-19, or persons exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 in the prior fourteen days;

Are not presently exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms themselves.

Any ticket holder unable to affirm these three items, should not attend the theatre. They should stay home and contact us at tickets@dramastudio.org for assistance in rescheduling.

Please note: CDC guidelines state that bandanas, gaiters, or masks with vents/valves are not approved masks. If you do not have an approved mask, Drama Studio will provide one for you.

What happens if an audience member comes to the theatre but doesn’t have proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test?

Audience members who are not able to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test at the door will not be permitted to enter the Drama Studio. They can exchange their tickets for a future performance when they are able to show proof of vaccination or a negative test or access to the digital recording of the performance when available.

Does my Drama Studio Student need proof of vaccine or negative test to attend the show?

No, current Drama Studio Students are covered under our class onsite policy agreement and therefore do not need to show proof of vaccination or negative Covid test to attend a performance.
