**Featured Performers Michael and Carrie Kline:**

Michael Kline and Carrie Nobel Kline share a love of social activism, folklife documentation and old-time singing. Known for their  podcast “Talking Across the Lines,” on human and eco justice.” Based on human rights issues growing out of the recorded voices,  the two are known for their musical connection and style, her strong and endearing melodic singing and his high, tight harmonies. Their music resonates with cascading fiddle tunes, ancient ballads, and labor songs that stir feelings of unity among workers worldwide.

They perform country harmony duets from coal mining songs to gospel, family songs and front porch music. Listeners may find themselves dancing a waltz to “Fiddler Jones,” the song that celebrates the role of music and old-time fiddlers in our lives and our communities, or those who play for family and friends or local dances. Their lives are inspired by Appalachian music and culture. Their voices carry the songs with truth and authenticity, and their guitar accompaniments and haunting harmonies get you where you live. As folklorist-musicians they weave songs and stories, evoking the times that really matter, time with family and friends, spiritual times, wrapped in a patchwork quilt of vivid imagery.
