NAMI Western Massachusetts Art and Poetry Show

NAMI Western Massachusetts (The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Western Massachusetts) will hold an opening reception for its 15th Annual Art and Poetry Show featuring the work of artists living with mental health conditions on Wednesday, April 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chicopee Public Library, 449 Front St. The reception and parking adjacent to the library are free. The exhibit runs through the end of April.

 The art show will feature art works for sale to the public, with monies going directly to the artists. Complimentary refreshments will be served and all are welcome to this very special event.

 “The NAMI Western Massachusetts art and poetry show is a wonderful venue for artists with lived experience to have a showcase for their work” said Mark Carney a member of the Art Show Committee. Another artist said, “that participating in the Art Show helped them realize that they have something to give other people, their art uplifts them and they hope, others as well.” It’s also an important opportunity to educate the public about the lives, creativity and abilities of individuals in the Western Massachusetts community who are affected by mental health conditions.

 NAMI Western Massachusetts is an affiliate of the nation’s largest grass-roots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives for all those affected by mental health conditions. Headquartered in Holyoke, NAMI Western Massachusetts provides support, education, advocacy and Hope for those in the Western Mass. community.
