On the Boards - Play Festival

The LAVA Center is proud to present our third annual festival of new play readings by (mostly) local playwrights, “On the Boards.”

This year’s festival will include new and developmental works by ten Massachusetts-based playwrights and five LAVA friends from further afield.

Get a glimpse into the process of making theater, in this festival of readings of new works in several stages of development.

On Fridays and Saturdays in June, there will be readings of plays that will culminate in a talkback session with the playwright. We welcome our audience to be part of the playwriting process by offering helpful, targeted feedback.

There’s a different program every weekend, so come out to them all!

On Sunday, June 29 there will be a shorter program of table reads, more casual presentations of shorter selections from six plays in development, also followed by talkback sessions
