Paper Marbling with Tate Klacsmann

Zea Mays Printmaking (320 Riverside Drive, Florence MA)

Create your own beautiful marbled paper!

Suminagashi is a traditional Japanese technique for marbling paper by manipulating pigment in water, then taking an impression on paper of the liquid’s surface. The water becomes a monotype plate that’s in constant motion, and the resulting impression on paper is a print that captures the fluid motion.

Each participant will have the opportunity to create several pieces of marbled paper with a variety of pigments available. In addition, set up, materials, and a variety of techniques will be discussed.
