Un viaje a través de la rica, diversa y revolucionaria cultura literaria de América Latiné. Leeremos, reflexionaremos y discutiremos las obras de poetas influyentes en América Latiné y España, en su idioma original en español. La gente puede compartir su propio trabajo escrito. Tendremos indicaciones en español para inspirarte a escribir. Justo después de esta presentación, el Centro LAVA estará abierto durante 2 horas para el tiempo de escritura abierta, al que se le anima a asistir.
Esta presentación y discusión será principalmente en español. Las traducciones al inglés pueden estar disponibles según las necesidades lingüísticas de los participantes.

Poetry and Prose from the Heart: The Tradition of the Latiné Written Word
A presentation and discussion with Alfonso Neal, adjunct professor of Latinx Studies at Holyoke Community College
A journey through Latin America's rich, diverse, and revolutionary literary culture. We will read, reflect, and discuss the works of influential poets through Latin America and Spain—in their original Spanish language. Folks can share their own written work. We will have prompts in Spanish to inspire you to write. Right after this presentation, The LAVA Center will be open for 2 hours for open writing time, which you are encouraged to attend.
This presentation and discussion will be primarily in Spanish. English translations can be made available based on the language needs of participants.
