Uplifting Queer Voices is a community program made possible by the Live Music Society’s Music In Action Grant. Dedicated to empowering and amplifying voices of local LGBTQIA+ musicians and industry professionals with an emphasis on QTBIPOC led affinity spaces.The program’s mission is to provide robust support to participants through professional development initiatives, workshops, and performance opportunities. Our goals include increasing accessibility, expanding artist representation, and diversifying our audiences, while creating a beloved third place (a community meeting space where we exchange ideas, have a good time, and build relationships).

Notes for performers:

Everyone (non-members) pays whether performing or not

Performances are a maximum of 10 minutes long

Performers get a maximum of 4 inputs

No drum kits

In a world where safe spaces for historically marginalized populations are few and far between, we aim to amplify underrepresented voices and facilitate meaningful connections. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or stepping into the spotlight for the first time, our stage welcomes all identities and experiences with open arms. Bring your music, poetry, comedy, storytelling, and more to perform, or join us in the audience!
