The Real Testament: Behind-the-Scenes with Ann Lee's Legacy

This 90-minute guided tour explores the life and legacy of Shaker leader Ann Lee through the lens of The Testament of Ann Lee, a 2025 film by Mona Fastvold. Filmed in part at the Village, Testament is a wonderful entry point to the origins, beliefs, and practices of the Shakers. During the tour, you will visit several locations used in the film- including the Brick Dwelling, Sisters' Dairy and Weave Shop, the Round Stone Barn, and the Laundry and Machine Shop-while you learn more about the Shakers' commitment to celibacy, communal living, equality, and more. Note: even if you haven't seen the film, you can still enjoy the tour!
Pre-registration is required. Registration fee, which includes general admission to the Village, is $40/adults, $15/young people ages 6-17. 10% discount for HSV members. Not appropriate for children under 6.
