Tanglewood on Parade Evening Concert

Boston Symphony Orchestra Boston Pops Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra Keith Lockhart, conductor Samy Rachid, conductor Lorna McGhee, flute BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 6, Pastoral Allison LOGGINS-HULL Rhapsody on a Theme by Joni, for flute and orchestra COPLAND El Salón México TCHAIKOVSKY 1812 Overture The traditional daytime events of Tanglewood On Parade are reimagined to celebrate the Berkshires, featuring TMC and BUTI ensembles, storytelling, high school marching bands, a collaboration with Festival Latino, dancing on the lawn, and a joyful parade to the Shed. In the evening, the Tanglewood Music Center Fellows join members of the BSO to perform music by Copland, Tchaikovsky, and Loggins-Hull. The program will include Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 "Pastoral," performed without a conductor - one example of what happens when friends and neighbors work together with a common purpose.
