The Western MA chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) is thrilled to present…
Music of the Spheres: J.S. Bach and his Majestic Organ Music in Space!. This event features a live performance of Bach's organ music set to incredible videos of pipe organs, as well as flyover videos of Earth taken from the International Space Station!. The performance is designed to be a highly engaging, educational program on the pipe organ, the music of Bach, and outer space. Suitable for all ages.
The organist will be Brian Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman is an American concert organist whose numerous performances include solo recitals at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC as well as on the world’s largest church organ at West Point Cadet Chapel. Come be amazed and enthralled!
At 6:00 PM, preceding this multi-media event, there will be hands-on construction of a small pipe organ! A perfect STEAM activity for kids and their grown-ups, this will take place in the library room of the cathedral. It will be limited to the first 25 youth to attend.
After the performance, to cap off this star-studded night weather-permitting, there may be viewing of the night sky outdoors in the quadrangle.
The events are free and open to the public.
