The South Amherst Rail Trail and Swamp Through the Seasons
There is so much to see, so many colors, textures and patters, at the beginning of the Norwottuck Rail Trail, on Station Road, in South Amherst. Throughout the seasons, the swamp and woods offer dramatic beauty as the ice and snow melt, the trees and flowers bloom, birds and animals return, the fog rolls in and out, lily pads appear, the leaves change and the snow returns. I see something different every time I walk the trail, from the overall landscape to water reflections and to minute details in tree bark. Please enjoy!
