Van Gogh's Iris: How to Pastel Paint
Date/Time
Location
Millbury Public Library (128 Elm St, Millbury, MA 01527, Millbury MA)
Gregory Maichack, award-winning artist and twice Mass. Cultural Council Gold Star Award Program nominee, is back for another pastel painting course! This fun, two-hour workshop focuses on Van Gogh's irises at Saint-Remy, which now ranks as one of the most expensive paintings of all time. Using pastels and French pastel pencils, tabletop references, and anecdotes on Vincent's life, participants will produce their very own pastel of a stunning iris. This class is for adult patrons ages 18 and up. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the popularity of our art/hands-on programs, the Millbury Public Library will approve patrons by lottery and require that you arrive five to ten minutes early for the class. If you are not on time, your registration will be cancelled. Late arrivals will not be accepted into the program, and that space will be filled with patrons from the waiting list. Once the program has begun, a sign will be posted on the doors to let patrons know that they cannot enter after this time, out of respect for the presenter. If you are unable to attend, please contact the library 24 hours in advance at 508-865-1181, so that we may contact a patron from the waiting list. Thank you. Sponsored by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
