Vivian Bresnitz Photography

Vivian is a graduate of NYC’s School of Visual Arts (class of 1982) with a BFA in Photography. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. After college, she worked in professional photo labs in NY and RI. In 1991, she shifted gears, moving to western MA to become a Massage, Polarity and Neuromuscular Therapist, taking a hiatus from photography.

In 2014, a friend reignited Vivian’s phot passion with a gift: his retired pro DSLR camera. She assisted him and other professional photographers at weddings and events, eventually going out on her own, building a portfolio, including high school seniors, family portraits and professional headshots, all while remaining a full-time massage therapist.

While the 2020 pandemic slowed the event work, it opened time for long walks in the neighborhood, the woods and beyond. Always with a camera, isolation and “getting out” made everything seem fresh. Observing the spatial layout, the color, shapes, textures, the vastness…seeing the ‘stories.’ She’s always trying to bring these visions “home” to the viewer, to experience or urge them to see for themselves.
