Why does the world need artists?

Art makes us stop. It asks us to look, to feel, to remember

what it means to be human. It reaches past language,

engaging our senses and unsettling our assumptions, creating

space for emotions that words alone can’t hold.

I’m Wil, a self-taught artist from Western Massachusetts. I

started on my journey as an artist 20 years ago after a car

accident left me unable to enjoy my physical activities.

While physical therapy restored my body, Bob Ross and his

“happy little clouds” reshaped how I see the natural world.

Many tutorial DVDs and instructional videos later, I enjoy

taking a creative lens to the world around me.
