The LAVA Center hosts a monthly series, Writers Read, on the second Wednesday every month. Coordinated by Lindy Whiton, the series brings in local writers and a couple of outside surprises. $5 suggested donation.

Gray Davidson Carroll is a writer, dancer, swimmer, sibling, partner, activist and public health researcher grateful to call western MA home. They are the author of Waterfall of Thanks, published this year by Bottlecap Press.

Emily Brewster is a lexicographer who has been writing poetry (mostly secretly) since childhood. She lives in Greenfield with her husband and two children.

Daniel Hales is a Greenfield writer, musician, and teacher. He’s the author of ¿Cómo Hacer Preguntas? or How To Make Questions: 69 Instructional Poems (Frayed Edge Press), the hybrid novel Run Story (Shape&Nature Press), and 3 poetry chapbooks. His band The Frost Heaves & HaLeS has released 5 albums, including Contrariwise: Songs from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass. www.danielhales.com
