Writers Read is a monthly opportunity for an audience to come and listen to local writers in an intimate environment. Each second Wednesday of the month, three writers read from their work, followed by a discussion facilitated by Lindy Whiton, designer of Writers Read. These discussions have been eye opening, touching, and inspiring. Audiences have left the venue ready to write.

Morning Star Chenven is a writer/poet, musician, choral director, performance artist. She is working on a book based on the life of her Russian Jewish immigrant grandparents—themes of forgiveness, love, passion, duty. She is a mother, grandmother and life/musical partner with Moonlight Davis.

Joan Livingston is the author of novels for adult and young readers, including the Isabel Long Mystery Series, which features a former journalist who becomes an amateur P.I. solving cold cases in the hilltowns of Western Massachusetts. Joan, who worked for newspapers here and in New Mexico, lives in Buckland. Her book releases this spring: The Twin Jinn and the Alchemy Machine, a magical realism book for middle grade readers; The Swanson Shuffle, in which a young woman works and lives in a psychiatric halfway house, where she learns more than she expects from its ex-patients; and Finding the Source, no. 8 in her mystery series.

Rebecca Daniels writes creative non-fiction. Books include: Women Stage Directors Speak (McFarland, 2000), Keeping the Lights on for Ike (Sunbury, 2019), Finding Sisters (Sunbury, 2021), and That Day And What Came After (Sunbury, 2024). She moved to western Massachusetts in 2015 on retirement from university teaching of theatre (25 years).
