Date/Time

Location

Milne Public Library Williamstown (1095 Main St, Williamstown, MA 01267, Williamstown MA)

Join us for a screening of "Wild Hope: Building for Birds," a 16-minute documentary about the effect of building glass on bird populations and innovative solutions to this problem. Afterwards, we will engage in simple hands-on activities to help keep our feathered friends safe! And, a few lucky winners will receive window collision tape to use on their windows at home. Produced by HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, this documentary highlights the deadly impact of glass windows on bird populations and showcases innovative solutions being implemented by organizations like the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute in Washington, D.C. and the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City as well as simple ways you can make your windows “bird safe” at home. This film and other mini-documentaries are available to view online as well. This event is one of numerous Flight Path programs, an initiative the library is participating in through the Spring. Be on the look out for more programs about birding, bird conservation and migration, and bird-related films and craft workshops!
