Life and creativity coach for artists and creatives.
I provide coaching for artists and creatives who want to step more fully into a professional creative life without selling out or burning out.
It is hard to be a practicing artist- there is a lot to juggle. You have to maintain a vital creative practice where you make work that is real and compelling, find ways to get it out into the public, do the practical and labor intensive production work for presentation, and do all the behind the scenes marketing and networking and other business development.
It is easy to become overwhelmed and isolated, lose your focus, purpose, and momentum, and burn out. It is possible to get thrown off course by what you think the art world wants, and by your nasty internal critic. Imposter syndrome, perfectionism, procrastination and loss of motivation all come rushing in.
Please do not give up- your work is important!
I help artists create lives that are healthy and balanced so they can feel free to explore work that is exciting and rewarding, that has soul and guts and integrity. I also help artists get that work out to the people who are hungry for it in a way that feels good and not icky.
Your most honest and growth filled work, is exactly what others need to nourish their lives, sooth their souls and validate the things they feel.
And, be honest, when you don't make your work, your life becomes brittle and soulless. When you do make your work, life flows and you can bring your best self forward.
So if you are struggling, it might be time to get some help!
With more than 35 years of being a professional artist and at least 10 years as a professional coach for artists, I know the terrain. I have experienced my own ups and downs, through various chapters and I have persisted.
I have learned that good support is essential, that it is not advice or critique that you need, but someone who is listening deeply without judgment and with an ability to reflect what is true for you. You need help breaking down the goals into manageable steps and prioritizing them. You need someone on your side who can help you untangle all the old nasty voices so you can tap into your creative flow, make your best work and get it out where it can make a positive impact.
This is what I do as a life and coach for artist. And I offer a free introductory session to see if we are a good fit to work together.
