Every town has a personality.  Every street has a memory.
Every building, park, landscape and face reflects a piece of America.

Every picture has a story – what’s yours?

As the United States celebrates its 250th Anniversary, Workshop13 invites residents of Ware and surrounding communities to reflect on characteristics and even archetypes of America and American culture as seen through YOUR lens. In fact, we encourage you to go beyond reflection and get out into your communities with whatever camera you have on hand (cell phone, digital, polaroid, film, toy…), take photos — and share them with us!! Help us create an exhibit of OUR community for this unique exhibition!

What are we looking for?

Photos taken within your community that reveal the raw, unfiltered beauty of daily life;  photos that make visible the places that are so familiar and embedded in your routine they’ve become invisible.  Capture their mood of the people, place or things you photograph. We want you to document celebrations, quiet moments, extravagant events, laughter, wonderfully quirky people, buildings, structures… any and all the things that are both unique to this region of Massachusetts, yet…somehow…tell the story of America.

Our Vision for this Community Exhibition:

Your images are to be pieces of a larger story.  We will hang your unframed photos on the walls of ArtWorks Gallery in a way that, we hope, conveys a shared vision about our small but mighty communities… and about what it means to be part of the broader American culture!!
