A Beautiful Future Band presents exceptional musicians performing lively, positive, joyful music. Current show offerings are: Caribbean Soul, Emerald Isle, Multicultural Voyage, and Birds: Of Thee We Sing. These programs are available for concerts, performances and functions for audiences of all ages. Caribbean Soul – World music show featuring the steel drum and stellar vocals with calypso, reggae, and Latin music and rhythms. Songs include favorites from Trinidad, Jamaica, and other islands as well as original music performed in island styles. Island games and dances like limbo and conga line are featured for interactive shows. Emerald Isle – World music show featuring traditional Irish songs and instrumentals such as jigs and reels. Familiar songs and new favorites are performed with lovely vocal harmonies, guitar, keyboard, bass and percussion. Multicultural Voyage children’s show features interactive music and movement from around the world. With joyful songs and games, dancing and laughter, the Beautiful Future Band guides children young and old on a fun musical journey. Band members share their musical influences from many cultures with their original songs, and introduce delightful songs and language from many countries including China, New Zealand, Ireland, The Caribbean, India, South and Central America, France, The Middle East, and many more! Birds: Of Thee We Sing features the Beautiful Future Band and Central Connecticut State University Professor of Biology David Spector celebrating the wonderful repertoire of music featuring birds. The program delights audiences with musical performances of songs and a slide show and commentary by Professor Spector providing photos of the birds and an entertaining narrative about the birds and the songs. The Beautiful Future Band features musician/educators who bring together years of professional, award winning musical entertainment experience with their passion and joy for world music. Core band members include Kate O’Connor on vocals, steel drum, keyboards, and percussion, and Rico Spence on vocals, bass, drums and percussion. The band performs as a trio or larger band with horns depending on the venue and event.
