I am a lifelong dancer and music-maker, somatic movement educator and mother, now making a home in western Massachusetts after many years living in San Francisco, CA. I am a passionate collaborator in social action work: designing participatory arts experiences, community facilitation and capacity-building, and embodied nervous system learning through play.
As a facilitator, I offer bilingual (English/Spanish) circles and sanctuary spaces that guide people to tap into the wisdom of their bodies, find and use their voices, and step into greater connection, creativity and healing for themselves and this world we live in together.
I have a B.A. in Anthropology, Modern Languages and Dance, where my thesis work looked at ways that women in Latin America have mobilized social change through dance and music. I am a certified MotherCircle Facilitator, and longtime Biodanza Facilitator -- a practice engaging the power of music and movement as catalysts to grow personal and collective resilience -- with additional specializations in youth, organizations and teams; my Biodanza thesis project focused on co-creating conditions supportive of growth and wellbeing with families and individuals at any age. I've worked across diverse fields including nonprofits, education and health care, from pregnancy and early childhood to end of life, with an emphasis on communication and community building.
As an interdisciplinary teacher and artist, I have focused on building individual and organizational wellbeing working at the intersections of health and the arts, and have been an invited presenter to a wide range of groups and events including a California statewide early education conference for teachers and parents, and most recently mental health providers in Massachusetts. During early covid times, I created Lullabies for Grownups, bringing forward singing to ourselves and in community as a centering and regenerative practice.
Currently I hold Biodanza groups in western and eastern Massachusetts, and am in the process of becoming a mentor for other Biodanza teachers. My work to grow this participatory practice across the region and expand its accessibility and application in local communities is funded in part by a grant from New England Foundation for the Arts. My next MotherCircle will be online with a wonderful international group of co-facilitators, beginning mid-September 2025.
