Eric Weiss

Artist / Creative (Individual)

As a puppet builder Homeslice Puppetry specializes in building custom puppets and teaching puppetry classes and workshops to both children and adults alike from age 8 and up through adults.  Eric travels throughout New England teaching puppet building classes at various art studios, makerspaces, schools, and camps.   He has a wide array of mostly building classes in hand puppets, shadow puppets, mechanism, and giant parade puppets as well as a simple performance class in Bunraku-style puppetry, and is always adding new classes.  His programs can be as simple as a one-shot class for a few hours or a several day intensive, week-long, or artist-in-residence programs as well, depending on a clients' wants and/or needs.

Eric began his company as a way to turn his craft and passion into a career, and as a way to bring this passion to a new audience who want to learn how to make puppets. The thing that he loves the most about puppetry is how it is an art that draws from almost every other art form and inspires boundless amounts of creativity and ingenuity.
