A major part of my artistic voice also comes from my experience with color blindness. I aim to capture and translate the way I perceive color and emotion so viewers can experience my story more personally and connect with the work on a deeper level. Through abstraction and expressionism, I strive to create pieces that invite emotion, curiosity, and reflection.
My artistic practice is rooted in abstract expressionism, where I use color, movement, and emotion to communicate experiences that are deeply personal while still allowing others to find their own meaning within the work. As an artist of African and Hispanic heritage, I intentionally weave elements of my cultural identity into every piece I create, using art as a way to honor where I come from and reflect the layered experiences that shape my perspective.
i want to learn how to expand my artistic practice into more community-engaged projects such as more murals, sculptures, Furnitures like conversation pits and more that can open a room where can feel open and comfortable while connecting in a way that is collaborative, impactful, and accessible all through art piece that can open up a room with a conversation starter. I see these as powerful visual storytelling tools that can transform shared spaces, spark dialogue, and create a sense of connection and belonging. I want to better understand the process of creating public art that reflects not only my voice, but also the voices and experiences of the community around it.
