Godeliève Richard

Artist / Creative (Individual)

Godeliève Richard was born in Switzerland and spent her childhood and teenage years training in ballet. Instead of college, she left home at age 17 to live in the south of France to become a student at the Dance School of Rosella Hightower in Cannes. She then went on to attend the ADMMI Modern Dance School in Montreal.
In the early 2000's Godeliève met Jonathan Mirin, an American playwright/director/actor and this led to their co-founding Piti Theatre Company in 2004. The bulk of Godeliève's choreography over the last 15 years has been for Piti Theatre's family audiences touring performances which have won awards and toured across the US, Canada and Europe, including in French translations. She is also a visual artist and designer, having designed all of Piti Theatre's productions. Her grandfather, brother and mother were/are all painters based in Switzerland. More at ptco.org/dance
